Shannon, Harpurr’s loving owner, describes him as a playful and energetic furball. She mentions how he fearlessly climbs high places and always has someone keeping an eye on him. Harpurr is a bundle of joy whether he’s inside sprinting around the house and scaling his cat tree, or outside frolicking in the garden and racing his canine buddy, Charity.
When Shannon places Harpurr in his wheelchair, he becomes like a racing cat, full of energy and love. She lovingly refers to him as her ” spirited whirlwind of affection.”
Yet, the sight of Harpurr in a wheelchair hints at a difficult history. It all began several years back when Harpurr was discovered in a backyard. Born in the Alaskan outdoors, it seemed that his mother had left him there, alone.
When Mojo’s Hope rescuers arrived in Alaska to help, they found a brave cat who was already paralyzed. Despite his condition, they believed he deserved a shot at living a fulfilling life. Harpurr was taken to the rescue center, where it became clear he had a fighting spirit. Shannon, a member of the team, remarked, “From the moment we met him, he had a feisty attitude. He never backed down from a challenge.”

Harpurr was given top-notch care and attention at the shelter, which included being introduced to humans and other animals for socialization. Reflecting on this, she shared:
“I had the privilege of bringing in our incredible mentor, Cinder, who played a huge role in nurturing her character. Watching the bond between them develop was absolutely heartwarming.”
