One day, Meagan from Puppy Kitty in New York received a phone call about a cat that had been lingering outside a building for days, appearing to be paralyzed with fear.
Without wasting any time, Meagan hurried to the location, only to find a weary and scared tabby cat. It let out a timid meow as she approached.
Unsure of whether the cat would be receptive, Meagan proceeded with caution. However, what happened next was truly heartening.

When she reached out her hand, the cat’s whole attitude changed as soon as he sensed her touch. The tabby got up from the ground, wanting more pets on the head. Meagan remembered the experience, saying, “It’s like he instantly knew he was in a safe place.” Going from a scared and confused cat, he turned into a loving feline craving for snuggles.
With care, Meagan lifted him up and carefully settled him into a temporary carrier before making her way to her car. Surprisingly, the cat stayed peaceful and composed during the car ride, almost like he was eager for the new adventure that lay ahead. Reflecting on the experience, Meagan shared, “I didn’t have a proper carrier on hand as I was just coming back from work, so he quickly climbed onto my lap and started nuzzling everything in sight.”
While watching the cat, Meagan realized that the streets were not where he belonged. She knew he deserved a caring and permanent home. So, the cat was given a new name – Capone – and a new lease on life after surviving his adventures on the streets. Meagan recalled, “He was in a sorry state when I discovered him – tangled fur, gaunt, and with ears caked in grime.”
When Meagan rescued Capone from the streets, he quickly showed his affectionate side by becoming a cuddly love bug. In addition to being sweet, Capone proved to be calm and understanding as Meagan groomed him, showing how grateful he was to have someone looking out for him.
As time went by, the fear in his eyes disappeared, making way for love and a feeling of safety. Following a luxurious grooming session, Capone drifted off to sleep in his plush new bed, relishing in the rest he had probably been yearning for.
After finally taking a well-deserved break, Capone’s beauty only seemed to increase. He loved basking in the attention of everyone around him, relishing in cuddles and affection from those who held him close. Each day, he showed signs of improvement, his coat regrowing to reveal a shiny, soft fur. Meagan was amazed by Capone’s remarkable change, describing him as the sweetest and most loyal love-bug. He enjoyed watching “bird TV,” lounging on his human’s lap, and embracing the comforts of indoor life.
According to the post from @puppykittynycity, Capone not only found a new home through his rescue, but also found his perfect forever family. Meagan expressed her joy in saying, “Capone has been officially adopted and is now in the best new home imaginable. He is living his dream and is thriving. He has been amazing since the first day we met him. We are absolutely thrilled for him.”
Props to Meagan for helping rescue Capone, but let’s not forget that Capone played a huge part too! His sweet and affectionate personality definitely made things easier and led to a happy ending. Now, Capone finally has a loving family to care for him and give him all the love he deserves, ensuring he can live out his days in safety and happiness.
